Get started in British Eventing Caroline is one of the British Eventing Accredited coaches for some of the BE80(T) competitions in the South East, make the most of her expert advice and experience.
BE80(T) classes are one of the best ways to get in to the sport because dedicated BE Accredited Coaches are there to help and support competitors free of charge competitors during the warm up in the show jumping, walk the courses and answer all of your eventing questions.
Who can compete in a BE80(T)?
If you are not yet a member of BE you can simply purchase a Day Pass Membership which will allow you to buy a Training pass to compete for one day.
Dressage
Combinations first ride a BE90 level dressage test of approximately four and a half minutes.
Show Jumping
The show jumping phase is next and the course will be built to be encouraging and flowing with between 7 and 10 obstacles including 1 double combination and at least 3 spreads.
Cross Country
The final phase is the cross country and the course will again be designed to be encouraging and will include water (run in and out) and straightforward combinations.
All fences will be to BE specifications and are measured as follows;
Course Length – 1600 – 2800m
Speed – 435mpm
Jumping Efforts – 18 – 25
Max Height – 0.80m
Max Top Spread – 0.90m
Max Base Spread – 1.25m
Max Spread (no height i.e. ditch) – 1.00m
Max Height Fence with Drop – 1.20m
Max Depth of water – 0.20m
